Sara Ginsburg

PUPA Focusing Trainee Sara Ginsburg is a somatically-informed neurofeedback technician. She is also certified to deliver the Safe and Sound Protocol.

After several years doing direct-service crisis work, I took the skills I had learned while holding space with compassion and nonjudgment and began working with somatically-informed modalities in the rich space where body and mind connect. I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I am a neurofeedback technician and am certified in delivery of the Safe and Sound Protocol. It is through this work that I was introduced to Focusing in order to deepen my skills helping clients tune in to their felt sense.

I started studying Focusing with Annette Dubreuil in 2022 and was enthralled with how it opened up new pathways for emotional regulation and self-exploration. After years of failed attempts at building a meditation practice, I loved how it allowed me to be still in a new way, welcoming thoughts, feelings and images as they arose and inviting them to play and explore. Often when I enter the Focusing mindset, I have no idea where that day’s session will take me, and inevitably I I find something important. When I open my eyes after Focusing, my mind is quieter and I am more present in the moment. I find that it is a wonderful tool for gently shifting stuck thoughts, emotions and stress states.

I am excited to be on the journey to becoming a Certified Focusing Professional so that I can support others in finding groundedness and feeling resourced enough to show up for themselves and their communities.

Sara is available for 1:1 Focusing sessions on Tuesdays (10 am-12 pm),  Wednesdays (12:30 pm-3 pm) and Fridays (10 am-4 pm), Eastern time.
